Cass County Convention March 3rd

posted Mar 9, 2012, 11:54 AM by Cass County Republicans   [ updated Jun 15, 2017, 1:10 AM ]

The Cass County Convention held at the Hackensack Community Center on March 3rd was a resounding success. We had about 150 enthusiastic Republicans all gathered in one place and it was awesome. We got to hear from our current State Senator John Carlson, plus meet the candidates who hope to be representing Cass County after the November election. Senator Carlson will be running for the new Senate District 5. Greg Ravenhorst spoke for Rep. Larry Howes who will be running for his new District 5A. Rep. Carolyn McElfatrick introduced herself as she is seeking the District 5B House seat. Mark Anderson from Lake Shore announced his intention to run for the House District 9A that encompasses the southern part of Cass County. I hope you will all do everything you can to support our candidates in their upcoming campaigns.
We elected 15 delegates and 23 alternates to represent us at the District and State conventions. We also passed 22 resolutions that will be presented to the district resolutions committee for review. A special thanks go to those who stayed for the whole process. I apologize that the convention took so long and appreciate those who stuck it out until the end. I hope everyone came away with a little more knowledge and made new friendships.
A special thanks go to all the volunteers who helped make our convention a great success. We also appreciate those who volunteered at the convention to help during this important election year. With all your help, I'm sure we can have a very successful year promoting the Republican Party and getting our candidates elected.
